Fall 2018, 2 days before the start of harvest, Copper Cane Wine & Provisions abruptly cancels their 2,000 ton contract with Rogue Valley grape growers. This action would effectively bankrupt many small growers in many wine regions, but not in Oregon. You won’t believe what happened next.   1. You know the old adage “turning lemons into lemonade,” reminding us to stay positive and look for the bright side of life. What if the the “lemons” were a stuck fermentation and the “lemonade” launched a pink wine revolution? This is what happened when winemaker Bob Trinchero “mistakenly” produced Sutter Home Wines first White Zinfandel.
