Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio California Living Style

I have twitter relationships with a great group of women. Though I have never met any of them in person we talk regularly and I feel they are friends. One of these ladies is named Aprilanne Hurley. Aprilanne is the host of California Living, an energy packed show that highlights the California Lifestyle. In addition to hosting California Living, Aprilanne is the author of the book Party Girl Diet and writes a blog on food, fitness and fun. Aprilanne and I have many common interests: we are both interested in healthy living including food and exercise and we both know part of a healthy lifestyle is fun! I am constantly looking for healthy recipes that taste good to make for my family. One night I made a delicious recipe Aprilanne shared with me and my family loved it!

quicheTo get the Party Girl Diet ‘Mock Crust’ Quiche visit http://partygirldiet.com/?p=3960.  It is delicious, easy, healthy and you will never miss added calories of the traditional crust. I strongly recommend you try it as well as many other Party Girl Diet recipes.

Mezzacorona Pinot GrigioMezzacorona Dolomiti 2012 Pinot Grigio: On the nose the Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio opens with green apples, pears, flowers and honey suckle. On the palate the apples and pears are met with soft white peaches and citrus. The wine is light but offers a well balanced acidity and dryness that allows it to pair well with food.  It was an excellent accompaniment to the quiche. It would also pair well with creamy vegetable soup, crab cakes, pork tenderloin with an orange glaze and NY style cheesecake with strawberries. This is a nice everyday wine that I recommend you keep on hand.

The Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio is grown in vineyards along the Adige Valley in Northern Italy surrounded by the Italian Alps. The grapes are cultivated in the traditional pergola style, with grapes picked entirely by hand at optimum ripeness in order to produce a perfect balance of crisp and fresh Pinot Grigio. The wine contains 12.5% alcohol.

Environmental sustainability is very important to Mezzacorona, who see themselves as “guardians of the land.” Mezzacorona has key elements to their sustainability that allow them to produce high quality wine while being kind to the earth.

  • Reduction of chemical treatments: utilizing the concept of “sexual confusion” to reduce harmful insects.
  • Water management: created 7 artificial rain water reservoirs and innovative irrigation systems.
  • Balanced vineyard management: reduce carbon footprint through recycling and using dry materials that are lighter and locally produced.
  • Quality environment certifications: they adhere to international sustainability guidelines and were the first Sicilian wineries to receive EMAS Certification.

The Mezzacorona 2012 Pinot Grigio is well distributed and well priced. It is sold locally between $5-$12. To find this wine visit www.wine-searcher.com. To learn more about Mezzacorona and see their portfolio of wines visit www.mezzacorona.it.

My song selection: The song I have selected is Pink’s 2001 hit Get the Party Started. www.pinkspage.com. I selected this song for two reasons: 1) Aprilanne is the original #keepthepartygoing girl; 2) with its crowd pleasing taste and low price Mezzacorona 2012 Pinot Grigio is the perfect wine for everyday or for a party!  To see Pink’s original music video visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW1dbiD_zDk&feature=kp.

Get your own Mezzacorona 2012 Pinot Grigio and let me know what song you would pair with it. Cheers!
