I have some exciting news! Rockin Red Blog is heading to Basque Country! I have been invited to share the presentation I gave at Vinisud 2016 in Montpellier, France in February at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. It will be a quick trip. I am leaving tomorrow and returning Sunday. However, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday I am going to be wined, dined, toured, and educated on Riojas Alavesa and Txakoli.

Thursday, July 8 will focus on Txakoli and the three existant appellations during the day. In the evening we will be transferred to Rioja Alavesa for dinner.
Friday, July 9 my presentation will take place at the Polytechnic University of Valencia on in Laguardia, the capital of Rioja Alavesa.
Saturday, July 10 is spent touring Rioja Alavesa: visiting towns, vineyards, wineries, etc.

It promises to be a great three days!
Follow along on my Instagram (@rockinredblog), Twitter (@fiery01red) and Facebook (Michelle Williams and Rockin Red Blog) as I share all the great pictures from this fun event! Keep an eye out for #Basquewine and #Txakoli as well.
On Wednesday, July 6th I am publishing a new article on wine closures. Please share your thoughts with me on this article and share on social media as you are able. Friday, July 8th article features four high quality wines from Artessa Winery that you are not going to want to miss.

How exciting Michelle and what a great honor. Lucky you, I love Spanish wine especially Riojas. Oh you are going to have such a wonderful time. I just love Spain.
Thank you Suzanne. It will be fast and fun. I am really looking forward to it.
Thank you Suzanne!
I’m jealous. I was fortunate enough to visit the Basque Country years ago and would love to take my family there now. Despite my given name, my family is Irish and Basque with my grandparents on my mother’s side actually from the Basque area in Spain. Enjoy!
It is a quick trip but I am excited to learn about the region in hopes to return some day with my family as well.
That sounds very cool – and quite an honor. I’m just curious, though, when you will be going to basque country? Valencia is on the eastern side of the country, are you taking a side trip to basque country?
Thank you. I leave today and return on Sunday. Since I am traveling as a guest of the university and Rioja Alavesa I do not have any side trips planned this time. I would love to come to Valencia some day!
Another wine trip to Europe! You lead such an exciting life. 🙂 Awesome, I can’t wait to see the pictures and read your account.
It will be quick but fun! I will post many pictures to social media while I am there! Cheers.
Oh wow Michelle, you hardly unpacked your bags from the last trip! I can’t wait to read all about it! xo
I know! Its a quick trip but will be so fun!
Wow, that sounds amazing Michelle! Have a great time and I look forward to hearing about it all. Cheers, Conrad.
Thank you so much Conrad!
