2014 Black Stallion Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley USA

This wine poured a deep ruby into the glass. The nose is pronounced, rich and powerful. Aromas such as baked blackberries, black cherries, and plums combine with loads of baking spices, dried herbs, dark chocolate, cloves, cassis, black licorice, dried tobacco, leather, and dusty earth. The palate offers more restraint than I was anticipating. It is rich and bold but balanced with grippy pronounced tannins and high acidity. Enters the palate with fruit, mid-palate the fruit gives way to the depth of earthiness that fills the mouth, with a long, dry finish. If you like big, affordable Napa Cabs this is your wine.
